Metalheads and Pitbulls

Excerpts
Description
This work juxtaposes images of pitbulls hanging from trees with death metal fans acting out in their suburban homes.  These images suggest aggression through the posture and the play of youth subcultures.

Metalheads and Pitbulls is commercially printed on a Sintra substrate—a material commonly used for advertising.  We are interested in how these commercially produced images can function as a form of graffiti as well as interact and be influenced by the unique features of the various public environments.
